What We Treat
Digestive & Immune Health
When digestion turns unpredictable or you seem to catch everything going around, the useful question is usually what the symptoms have in common rather than what each one is.
How it shows up
Digestion and immunity move with stress, sleep, hormones, and routine.
Symptoms show up after meals, during demanding stretches, around hormonal shifts, or in the weeks after an illness. Sometimes the trigger is obvious. More often it takes a careful look at the timing before the pattern becomes visible.
Digestion rarely exists in isolation from the rest of the body.
Stress, sleep, hormonal change, activity, appetite, and daily rhythm all shape how well you digest and how quickly you recover. Which is why a symptom that only appears in busy weeks is telling you something.
Different patterns
The same symptom can mean different things in different people.
Bloating after meals, digestion that falls apart in stressful weeks, long-running irregularity, and catching every bug going are four different problems that happen to share a category.
Pattern 01
Bloating & fullness
Pressure and discomfort after eating, often with changes in appetite. Frequently worse later in the day or after larger meals.
Pattern 02
Irregular digestion
Constipation, loose stools, or habits that swing between the two and refuse to settle into anything predictable.
Pattern 03
Stress-related digestion
Symptoms that track your workload, your sleep, or your travel schedule. Here the digestion is the messenger rather than the problem.
Pattern 04
Low resilience
Catching everything, taking weeks to shake it, and never quite returning to full strength between rounds.
Our approach
Look for the pattern behind the symptoms.
Rather than treating bloating or irregularity as isolated complaints, we look at timing, triggers, stress, sleep, energy, and how you eat, because that is where the explanation usually sits.
-
01
Understand the pattern
Your symptoms, when they happen, how long they have been running, and what reliably makes them better or worse.
-
02
Look at triggers and timing
Meals, stress, sleep, hormonal shifts, illness, travel, and routine. When something happens is often more diagnostic than what it is.
-
03
Support digestion and recovery
Treatment works toward a more comfortable and, more importantly, more predictable pattern. Predictability is usually what people actually want back.
-
04
Adjust as symptoms change
As digestion settles, care shifts to whatever is still present, which is often energy and resilience rather than the original complaint.
Your care
An integrative approach to digestion and recovery.
Acupuncture and herbal medicine do most of the work here. Herbs in particular have a long history with digestive complaints, and a formula taken daily suits a problem that shows up daily.

Acupuncture
Treatment shaped around your digestive pattern and what sits underneath it. Where stress is driving symptoms, shifting the nervous system out of a stress state addresses both at once.

Herbal Medicine
One of the strongest applications of Chinese herbal medicine. Formulas differ substantially for bloating, constipation, loose stools, and reflux rather than treating digestion as one thing.

Nutrition & Supplementation
Food-based guidance built around what you actually eat rather than an ideal diet you will abandon in a fortnight. Discussed during your visit where it would help.

Massage Therapy
Relevant when stress and physical tension are feeding the pattern, since a body held tight all week digests differently from a body that gets to put itself down.

Red Light Therapy
A low-effort adjunct for recovery and inflammation, and easy to keep up during the stretches when you have least energy for anything else.
Treatment arcs
How long depends on how long it has been going on.
A recent disruption behaves very differently from symptoms you have organised your life around for years. Your arc is built from your history and adjusted by your response.
Short-term disruption
4 to 8 sessions
Digestive changes following travel, illness, a stressful period, or a change of routine.
Recurring digestive patterns
10 to 24 or more sessions
Long-running bloating, irregularity, reflux, or discomfort. Herbal medicine is often central here alongside treatment.
Immune resilience
Often seasonal
Support through winter, allergy season, or a demanding stretch. Starting before the season lands works better than reacting to it.
Maintenance
1 to 2 times monthly
Periodic care once things are steady, to hold the pattern through the next disruption rather than rebuild after it.
Your first visit
Start with when, how, and after what.
Your first appointment gives us time to understand your digestive pattern, your immune history, your routines, and what has changed. Expect specific questions; the detail is what makes the pattern legible.
Our goal is for you to understand the pattern we are seeing, what seems to be driving it, and how your plan is being built around that.
What we will ask about
- Your main digestive or immune concern
- When symptoms began and how they have changed
- Timing relative to meals, stress, and routine
- Bowel habits and digestive comfort
- Appetite, reflux, bloating, and food triggers
- How often you get ill and how fast you recover
- Sleep, stress, energy, and hormonal changes
- Medications, supplements, and recent antibiotics
Common questions
Can this treat food allergies or autoimmune conditions?
No. Acupuncture is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment of food allergies, coeliac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, autoimmune conditions, or immune deficiency. It works as complementary care alongside them, and we will refer you on where that is what you need.
When should I see a doctor rather than book here?
Please get medical evaluation first for blood in the stool, unexplained weight loss, difficulty swallowing, persistent vomiting, severe or worsening abdominal pain, or a marked change in bowel habits lasting more than a few weeks. These need ruling out properly, and we will say so if you describe them at intake.
Do I need testing before coming in?
No. Bring any labs, imaging, allergy testing, or diagnoses you already have and we will read them. Where your symptoms suggest evaluation would help, we will recommend it rather than working around the gap.
My digestion gets worse when I am stressed. Is that real?
Entirely. The gut and nervous system are densely connected, and digestion is one of the first things to change when the body stays in a stress state. Where that is your pattern, treating the stress is treating the digestion.
What if I keep getting sick?
There are many possible reasons, and some deserve investigating. Recurrent infections, persistent unexplained fatigue, or symptoms that keep escalating warrant bloodwork and a conversation with your physician alongside anything we do.
How many treatments will I need?
Digestive patterns tend to shift gradually rather than dramatically, so give it four to six sessions before judging. You will get a specific estimate at your first visit and it will be adjusted by what actually happens.
When digestion feels off, the pattern is worth understanding.
Bloating, irregularity, food-related discomfort, or catching everything going around. If any of it has started shaping how you plan your days, that is reason enough to look at it properly.
