On Inputs, Outputs, Emotions, and the Human Experience
Emotions can be beautiful, complicated and scary.
They are the byproduct of our state and constitution, and the cause of a thousand diseases. Anger, worry, fear, joy, love, and bliss compose the human experience.
Life can be blissful or miserable and sometimes both; clarity is often found in the valleys. Why?
The answer is both simple and complicated. It is simple because our emotions are the direct output of our inputs.
Put drugs & alcohol in, put temporary bliss + anxiety and depression out. Put processed foods and sugars in, put lethargy and dullness out; put leafy greens and fruit in, put optimism and zest out; put binge watching in, put regret and reluctance out; put regular exercise in; put positivity and optimism out; put negative people in; put negativity out; put yoga in; put joy & happiness out.
Freedom from misery is also complicated because many inputs go unnoticed. Simple observation is critical and powerful. Happiness also requires a willingness and desire for change.
It’s a dance shaping our reality through our senses, thoughts, and actions.
Sharpen your senses. Observe the inputs that influence your thoughts. Tune into your emotions; recognize them for what they are.
